Nottingham Forest sporting director Luke Dowling has departed the club to join West Bromwich Albion, the club have confirmed.

Dowling had previously worked as a scout and coach, for many different clubs such as Leeds United and Portsmouth, and was also influential for Watford where he was the Hornets’ sporting director for four years.

He will look to offer guidance and support to a relatively young and inexperienced manager in Darren Moore, who make no bones about it, has done a magnificent job at the helm of the West Midlands club, ahead of Albion's promotion push this season.

Forest have made a good start to life under the club's new owner Evangelos Marinakis, who brought in an array of new personnel to the club since he arrived last year, taking over from Fawaz Al Hasawi, and this is breeding well on the pitch after two wins on the bounce.
