Bolton manager Phil Parkinson has warned against a summer overhaul, as the club prepare for the drop into League One following their relegation from the Championship.

Wanderers have been plagued by problems off the field this season, with first team squad members Pawel Olkowski and Sammy Ameobi having already handed their notices in at the club over unpaid wages, while 20 other players are out of contract at the end of the season.

Speaking to The Bolton News however, Parkinson has warned of the problems of a complete turnover of the playing squad, saying: “The lads are sensible and they know that once this tangle is sorted out that it is a good club for the place going forward, we can’t just release everybody."

“You don’t want to be going into the summer looking for 20 players because that would be very, very difficult."

Taking to Twitter to react to Parkinson's claims, many Bolton fans seemed to suggest that an overhaul might not be such a bad idea for the club, particularly if Parkinson is one of those to see his position handed to someone else.

Here are some of the best of those reactions.
