Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa will be keen to get back to Championship action and will be looking for a return to winning ways following defeat last time out against current league leaders Swansea City, ahead of the Whites' visit to Barnsley this coming Sunday lunchtime.

The international break has given the Argentine the chance to assess his options and it would seem that he is ready to unleash loan winger Helder Costa on Championship defences, according to a report on Football Insider, having been used sparingly since signing in the summer.

So is Bielsa right to start using Costa regularly?

We discuss........

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes, of course. How can you sign a player of his quality and not be ready to use him.

“It’s like he’s bought an expensive car but, for the first few weeks, kept the covers on and only driven it a little bit.

“Once the time is right, he needs to get that car out for everyone to see. Costa is a big deal, a player who can make a difference and Leeds need that to keep the momentum going.

“They needed it from Izzy Brown last season, but Costa is a different standard to that; getting him on the pitch is going to be a big boost.”

George Harbey

“I think that now is the right time for Costa to make an impact from the off for Leeds.

“He wasn’t up to full match fitness in the first month of the season which is fair enough – he made a fantastic impact when coming off the bench, especially in the win over Brentford.

“But even though creating chances isn’t too much of a problem for Leeds, you still feel that they need something else going forward. That spark and pace out wide.

“He’s an exceptional player at Championship level and he would feel like a brand-new signing when he gets fully going in a White shirt.”

Dean Cooke

"Yes, he has undoubted quality, that at Championship level is far superior.

"On his day, he’s one of the best wingers in the league and can cause any defender trouble. He just needs a run of games.

"If Bielsa gives him that, then he might well go onto have a huge say in the promotion race this season, I think he’s a must start in the Leeds XI."
