Sunderland have endured a woeful season so far in the Sky Bet Championship, as they sit rock bottom of the league.

Who has been the worst player to put on a Sunderland shirt this season?

We discuss....

Chris Gallagher

James Vaughan, he just isn't good enough anymore.

It says it all that despite the lack of numbers they have up front he is still linked with a move away back to League One.

The ex-Everton man works hard and he will be struggling with his confidence, but Sunderland fans deserve better.

George Dagless

Take your pick!

Sunderland have been pretty poor this season and there's a number of players who have let the side down.

I'd say Lamine Kone most of all, though. Simply because he is actually the best player in the squad and he's not really been bothered.

Sam Preston

Lamine Kone.

He is a defender who can cut it at Premier League level and has interested Everton in the past but because his attitude isn't right, he hasn't played since October.

That sums up Sunderland's problems in recent years and they need to cash in on Kone as soon as they can.

Luke Randall

Jack Rodwell.

The former Everton midfielder has been surplus to requirements this season, with the level of ability shown by Rodwell continuing to decline.

For a player that was tipped to become a future England star, the 26-year-old has become the forgotten man after struggling to pull together any consistency.

Alfie Burns

There are a number of candidates at the Stadium of Light, but I will highlight Lee Cattermole.

Over the years Cattermole has been key for Sunderland in the top-flight, however, on the club’s return to the Championship, the midfielder has been woeful.

Cattermole brings nothing in central midfield and surely his days with Sunderland are looking numbered.
