Jack Butland hasn't had the best of starts to the season having made a mistake in both of Stoke City's opening games.

The England international is spending his second consecutive season in the Championship after the Potters' relegation back in 2018.

Former Stoke midfielder, Liam Lawrence, doesn't want the supporters to get on Jack Butland's back and has encouraged them to remember all the points he has saved the side over the years.

Nathan Jones' side have lost to both QPR and Charlton already this season with pressure beginning to mount on the club once more.

The club did, however, get through to the second round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night when they beat Wigan at the DW Stadium. They will take on Leeds at Elland Road for a place in the third round.

On Saturday, Stoke will take on Phillip Cocu's Derby side who remain unbeaten after an impressive start to the season. Butland will be hoping that he can keep his first clean sheet of the season.

Here's what Stoke City fans made of Lawrence's comments and the debate over Butland's starting spot...
