With Aston Villa fans adjusting to life in the post-Bruce era, their attention will turn to who can come in a  turnaround the fortunes of the Midlands giants.

A name constantly linked with every high profile position in England is Brentford manager and Villa fan Dean Smith, who continues to impress with the performances he manages to get from his squad.

So has the time come for Villa to make a move for Smith?

I’m really surprised that Dean Smith is still at Brentford if I’m honest. He’s lead them to strong finishes and they’ve always been there or thereabouts in the table.

The pace going forward for Smith’s Brentford side is too much to handle. I think he would provide much-needed experience in finishing high-up to this Villa side who are struggling this season and he would be the first candidate on my list for the Villa owners.
