Blackburn's poor Ewood Park form continued on Tuesday night as they slipped to a 4-2 defeat to leaders Reading - despite Adam Armstrong's best efforts.

Tony Mowbray's side have now picked up only four points from as many home matches, which has seem them drop to 12th-place in the Championship standings.

Yakou Meite's freak eight-second opener ensured the worst possible start for Rovers, although less than two minutes later the inform Armstrong wonderfully tucked home at the near-post.

But Blackburn imploded, however, conceding twice in the next 17 minutes which saw them trail 3-1 at the break.

Another excellent Armstrong strike midway through the second period ensured a nervy finish, but the Royals reclaimed their two-goal lead in the final 10 minutes to extend their lead at the top of the standings to seven points.

However, for Blackburn, it was another poor result - with Armstrong's performance and two goals, a rare positive on what was an extremely disappointing night for the Lancashire outfit.

The former Newcastle striker has already scored 10 goals this term, nine of which coming in the lead - which puts him one ahead of another ex-Magpies frontman in Ivan Toney.

Despite another home defeat - many Rovers fans expressed their delight towards Armstrong's performance on Twitter.
