Leeds United are closing in on a deal to sign Norweigan striker Abdul-Basit Agouda from Stromsgodset for a £500,000 fee, according to The Sunday Mirror (Print edition, 7th January 2018, page 20).

The 18-year-old has rejected a new deal at his current club, and it looks like Thomas Christiansen has identified the forward as a potential new addition.

Would Agouda be a wise signing for the Whites?

We discuss....

Chris Gallagher

Clearly, the forward is signed as one for the future and does look to have a lot of potential.

He has already featured for his club side and the 18-year old is said to have blistering pace and great ability.

Leeds fans will be glad that the club are looking for quality prospects, although the main concern will be getting a striker to make an impact between now and May.

Alfie Burns

Not for me, and Leeds’ supporters are sure to become frustrated by their club’s failure to bring household names to Elland Road.

A 2-1 defat to Newport County has sent the club’s supporters into a state of panic, and the Whites need to be making a serious statement in the transfer window this month.

He is not the answer.

George Dagless

He might be but it is hard to say.

He's a young kid from Norway, Leeds and the Championship is a huge step up with all due respect.

I don't think he'll be signed for the now, though, so maybe he'll have time to learn the ropes.

Luke Randall

Looks another promising player for the future.

At his previous club in Denmark the striker managed to find the net on two occasions for his previous club, showing he has the ability to produce already at the young age of 18-years-old.

After adding youngster Halme to their ranks already, he looks like a worthy buy for Leeds United as they look to build for the future at Elland Road.

Sam Preston

They need more than him.

Firepower is important at the business end of the season but looking at Agouda's record, there is no reason to suggest he could be the man to fire Leeds up the table.

Looking to the future should be praised but right now, I wouldn't expect him to come in and make an instant impact.
