Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk has claimed his side have a chance to end a “disappointing week” on a “higher note” when they take on Wycombe tomorrow, which has drawn a frustrated response from many Owls fans.

The Owls followed up a 1-0 loss to Luton Town last weekend with a comprehensive 3-0 defeat at the hands of Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United on Wednesday.

They now travel to Adams Park to take on Championship new boys Wycombe, who claimed their first point of the season against Watford on Tuesday night.

Speaking to club media ahead of tomorrow’s game, Monk suggested that the game against the Chairboys represented an opportunity for them to turn things around.

After starting the season with a 12-point deduction, Wednesday are bottom of the Championship and are nine points adrift of safety through eight games.

Three defeats in a row has meant pressure is mounting on the Owls boss, particularly from the Hillsborough faithful.
