Huddersfield are keen on signing Reece Brown after his impressive season with Forest Green Rovers, where they reached the play-offs.

Defeat against Tranmere in the semi-final ended their promotion hopes and it appears as though it could be Brown’s final game for the club.

The 23-year-old has been attracting attention after scoring 11 goals and providing 15 assists for Mark Cooper’s side and it appears a move is likely this summer, with the Terriers leading the way for his signature.

Here we look at Brown’s situation for our latest FLW Six Pointer…

What type of player is Reece Brown?

"The former Birmingham man is an attacking midfielder and is very good technically. Clearly, he also has an eye for goal and he has scored with some excellent efforts in the past year.

"Capable of finding space between the lines, he is someone who would thrive in a possession-based side."

Would be he able to handle the step up to the Championship?

"That’s tough to say, but he certainly deserves a chance.

"The numbers he has posted in the fourth-tier are excellent and he is clearly too good for that level.

"However, Huddersfield will be going for promotion which is a massive step up and it’s a level that Blues didn’t think he was able to reach. So, it will be interesting to see how he does."

Do Huddersfield play a way to get the best out of him?

"Without a doubt.

"Jan Siewert came in midway through last season and they were a lost cause at the time so it’s unfair to judge him on that.

"But, he was brought into the club because he is a modern, forward-thinking coach, so he will be look to play fast, attacking football which will suit Brown."

Does that mean he would start regularly for them?

"It’s too soon to say on that front.

"Huddersfield have several good players in that position, with Alex Pritchard a standout performer.

"Ultimately, it’s going to be a very busy summer but you would imagine that Brown will have a battle to get into the side, although healthy competition is needed at any promotion-chasing outfit."

So, how much will he cost?

"With Brown's contract up in the summer, he is going to be a bargain for someone.

"Given his age, a compensation package will have to be agreed with the League Two side or it will go to a tribunal but it won’t be a big fee either way.

"In today’s market that is great news for Huddersfield and this would be a shrewd addition."

Is a move to Huddersfield all but done then?

"Unfortunately for the Yorkshire side, it’s not.

"The latest news is positive though, with Football Insider claiming they are in ‘pole position’ to land the player.

"Yet, he has been linked with Leeds and Bristol City in the past and if the Whites in particular firmed up their interest then Brown could have a big decision to make."
