It's fair to say Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk is under pressure at the moment.

The club are struggling to consistently produce positive results, and with the amount of money spent on new players in the summer, better things are expected of Boro.

The former Leeds boss has often rotated his Boro starting elevens in the league this season, but still there are some players who are being held back and not being given a chance on a regular basis.

Which one player should Monk stop holding back and give more of a chance to?

We discuss....

Adam Simeoni

Ashley Fletcher needs to be given a run in the team. Boro paid big money to bring him to the club, but he just hasn't been given a chance so far.

If he is given a prolonged spell in the side alongside Britt Assombalonga I am sure he could begin to find his feet, and score for fun in this talented Boro side.

Alfie Burns

Lewis Baker.

He is fast becoming the forgotten man at the Riverside Stadium, with the talented midfielder hardly given a chance under Garry Monk this season.

The 22-year-old’s not featured in a matchday squad since October, and Boro are certainly missing someone with his creativity.

Whatever Monk’s problem is with the midfielder, he needs to put it to one side and give the on-loan Chelsea man a chance.

Chris Gallagher

I know he divides opinion, but Adama Traore.

His end product is so frustrating at times but I firmly believe he can go on to be a real quality player.

Traore beats players for fun and his dribbling stats are insane for this division. Monk should be doing all he can to help him develop as a player and give him a run. If he clicks he is unplayable and it's down to the manager to get the best out of him.

George Dagless

It's hard to say because he's rotated so much!

I think Lewis Baker could perhaps be given a more regular role as he has the class to be a Premier League player, he just needs a run.

Monk's approach to line-ups probably won't allow for that, though.
