Derby County progressed to the Championship play-off final last night with a fine 4-2 victory against Leeds United, sending them through 4-3 on aggregate.

Leeds took an early lead and appear to be in the driving seat, but as we've seen recently one-off end of season matches can provide thrills and spills.

The game at Elland Road certainly lived up to the level set by the Champions League semi-finals, as the Rams shifted up a gear.

They brought on former Peterborough man Jack Marriott and he turned the game on its head.

He levelled before Mason Mount and Harry Wilson chipped in with goals to give them a 3-2 lead on aggregate. Leeds pulled it back to 3-3 and then had Gaetano Berardi sent off.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man and with five minutes of the tie to go Marriott bagged an unlikely winner to break Leeds' hearts. Nine points separated the two in the league, but on a crazy night of football it was Frank Lampard who saw his side victorious.

The heroics of Jack Marriott will make him a hero at Pride Park for life, with these fans keen to express their joy on Twitter at his contribution.
