All at Elland Road will be in shock following defeat to Derby County in their Championship play-off semi-final, consigning Marcelo Bielsa's side to another season in the English second tier, having spent the season in and around the automatic promotion/play-off places.

If Bielsa remains at the club then there is likely to be a top to bottom review of the playing squad, with perhaps an emphasis on strengthening the squad so it is better prepared to sustain a concerted challenge, over the full course of an arduous Championship season.

Players out on loan are bound to be considered with players like striker Mallik Wilks, currently out on loan in League One with Doncaster Rovers firmly on that list.

So should an opportunity be afforded to Wilks next season?

We discuss........

George Dagless

"Yes.

"Wilks has been bright for Doncaster and assuming they don't go up into the Championship he'll be itching to play in the second tier.

"Leeds need to add to their striking options and Wilks deserves a chance to show what he can do."

George Brooks

"Wilks has had an outstanding season for Doncaster in League One and deserves a chance to prove himself in the Championship.

"Marcelo Bielsa has proven that he is prepared to give young players a chance in the first-team this season and perhaps he will give Wilks an opportunity to impress at Elland Road next campaign, if he remains in charge.

"If Doncaster win promotion to the Championship this season, Wilks may want to return to Donny anyway, as he will be guaranteed first-team football."

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes,  he has to be given a chance.

“He did well at Doncaster, they’ve outperformed expectation and Wilks has been a big part of that.

“It’s time to shake things up a bit at Leeds and they’ve got enough talented young players to do well.”
