Stoke City are facing a summer of upheaval as their disappointing maiden season in the Championship slowly peters out to nothing.

They were one of the pre-season favourites for promotion, but yesterday's 0-0 draw with Reading highlighted the job facing Nathan Jones and his staff in the summer. They lacked creativity and couldn't put struggling Reading to the sword.

Not all their players have been disappointing though, with plenty of signs that the club can move forward under the stewardship of Jones.

Danny Batth is one player their fans have been impressed with. He spent the first half of the season on loan at Middlesbrough, but made a January switch to Stoke for £3m.

With him in the side they've looked more organised at the back and whilst they're not clinical up front, they're now unbeaten in seven matches.

That's as much a testament to the 28-year-old's leadership as anything, something that hasn't escaped these fans.
