Norwich City were desperately fighting against relegation from the Premier League in January 2016, a fight they ultimately lost.

It wasn't as if they didn't give it a good go though, making a glut of signings in the transfer window desperately hoping to retain their top flight status.

One player whose capture raised a few eyebrows was James Maddison, a teenage sensation from Coventry City with just 12 starts to his name. He arrived on February 1st, subject to FA approval which was later granted.

Maddison had a lot to prove, despite his talent he hadn't got a lot of first team football behind him. He was immediately loaned back to Coventry for the remainder of the season as Norwich dropped out of the top flight.

He struggled to break through in 2016/17, making just four  league appearances as well as spending time on loan with Aberdeen. His quality eventually shone through last season as he took Carrow Road by storm.

A sensational campaign in which he bagged 15 times saw his value rocket, before he eventually joined Leicester City for a fee thought to be £20m.

It's fair to say James Maddison proved everything he needed to during his Norwich City spell, just as the fans had hoped he would when he signed.
