West Bromwich Albion will be aiming to continue their impressive start to the 2019/20 campaign when they face Sheffield Wednesday at the Hawthorns this weekend.

Currently top of the Championship standings, the Baggies could extend their lead over the chasing pack if they beat the Owls.

Kyle Edwards, who initially burst onto to the scene for West Brom last year, could be in line to feature for the club in their clash with Wednesday.

Having entered the final year of his existing deal, the 21-year-old winger will be determined to prove to Bilic over the coming months why he deserves a new contract.

Although Edwards is currently below the likes of Grady Diangana and Matt Phillips in the pecking order at West Brom, he has still managed to make 14 appearances for the club in all competitions this season.

Football League World West Brom fan pundit has suggested that Edwards should be offered a new deal by the club.

"He definitely should be offered a new contract.

"Edwards has significantly improved this season and although he isn't quite up to the standard of Phillips on the right-hand side of midfield, it would be unfair to compare him to the winger due to his lack of experience.

"He scored against Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the season and despite his lack of starts, he has since produced a number of impressive cameo performances from the bench.

"He is certainly a bright, young talent who we should be looking to retain."

Rudge has been impressed with the way Edwards has developed as a player since making his debut for the Baggies.

"He has done really well.

"Unfortunately for Edwards, Diangana and Phillips in particular have been outstanding on the wing so far this season.

"However, with suspensions and injuries being part and parcel of every Championship season and Diangana's future at West Brom not being guaranteed, Edwards could become a more important figure during the second half of the campaign.

"He has pace and trickery, as well as an eye for goal and at just 21-years-old, there is still plenty of room for development."
