Leeds United’s play-off ambitions were dealt a huge blow after Samuel Saiz was given a six-game ban for spitting at Robbie Willmott in the Whites FA Cup defeat at Newport.

Only one game has passed since, but Thomas Christiansen’s men lost at Ipswich without the influential Spaniard.

Since joining from Huesca in the summer, Saiz has established himself as the key man at Elland Road and looks a real bargain for the reported £3m that the Yorkshire club paid.

No Leeds player has been directly involved in more goals than the 26-year old who has five goals and five assists to his name in the Championship so far this season.

However, it’s his general play and creativity in the final third that takes Leeds to another level when he plays.

So, with that in mind, how much has his value gone up since he arrived in England during the summer?

We take a look…

Alfie Burns

It’s rocketed, he’s been so impressive for Leeds.

Of course, Saiz has his downfalls, but when you look at his general play, in terms of Championship footballers, he is right up there with the best.

Signing for such a small fee, you’d be saying his value has gone up at least £12m.

Sam Preston

He has quadrupled his value, I'd say.

He came in for a bargain £3m and I'd say it would take something in the region of £12m to make Leeds consider his future now. What a signing he was.

George Dagless

I'd say he's added about £5m-£10m to his value.

He was signed pretty cheaply for Leeds during the summer and has since shown what a bargain that was.

I think Leeds would make a serious profit if they sold him but I don't think they'll entertain such an idea right now.
