Coventry City have given Callum O’Hare a valuation worth up to £6 million, according to The Athletic.

The midfielder has attracted transfer interest from Burnley, who are looking to strengthen in the centre of the pitch.

Here we ask our FLW writers their verdict on if the £6 million sum would be a reasonable fee for the Clarets to sign the 24-year old…

In today’s market, Callum O’Hare is worth at least £6m as he has proven his worth in the Championship for Coventry and possesses the talent required to play at a higher level in the future.

With Burnley aiming to seal a deal for the attacking midfielder, the Sky Blues may need to consider drafting up a list of replacements as there is every chance that he will make the switch to Turf Moor.

Currently playing the best football of his career, O’Hare managed to provide 13 direct goal contributions in the second-tier last season.

Still only 24-years-old, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if O’Hare takes his game to new heights over the course of the upcoming campaign.

A £6 million fee would be a great deal for Burnley if they can get this deal over the line.

O’Hare would add a level of creativity that is missing in the side and could help elevate Kompany’s plans for the team.

It would also be a decent fee for Coventry, who have built their model on receiving good money for performing stars that can be later reinvested back into the team.

Coventry could perhaps aim for something closer to £10 million, but £6 million is a realistic amount for Burnley to meet as an asking price.

£6m does seem like a significant fee for a player that has never graced the Premier League but even the best players in the Championship should command big fees. O’Hare certainly is one of those, considering his record in the division.

He was solid in the Sky Blues’ promotion push last season and his goal contribution tally was excellent with 13 as well. Considering that the player’s age is also on his side, it could be a deal that ends up being worth more in the future.

If they have the funds, then £6m is a fair price to pay for the player.
