Leeds United were all set to wrap up a brilliant transfer deadline day deal in the form of Swansea winger Daniel James.

The 21-year-old had passed his medical at the Yorkshire club and signed his personal terms before the Swans cancelled the deal at the last minute.

Bielsa had made no secret of his desire to add a winger to his squad this month and appeared to have pinned everything on James, so there is no doubt it will be a big blow.

The Whites still sit top of the table with 29 matches played, three points clear of second-placed Norwich City and six clear of Sheffield United in third.

Kiko Casilla ended up as the club's sole first-team arrival, an impressive signing but the collapse of the James deal somewhat soured the month.

So, with all that has gone on, what is James likely to be thinking?

We discuss...

Gary Hutchinson

“I suspect he’s worried.

“How will the Swansea fans perceive him now he’s been and come back?

“It’s going to be tough for him to go back with his head held high.

“If he’s a good pro, he’ll deal with it and move one.”

Jacob Potter

"He'll be a frustrated figure.

"I have no idea why Swansea didn't get this move finalised as they will have an unhappy player on their hands now.

"James revealed that he wanted the move to Leeds and he has every right to be angry at the move falling through."

Louie Chandler

"He will be absolutely gutted, I am sure.

"To be so close to joining a side destined for the Premier League and working under Marcelo Bielsa for it to be taken away would have hurt.

"I imagine he will be angry with the Swans, but he needs to put that behind him and earn himself an even better move in the summer now."
