Leeds United will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they entertain Brentford in the Championship tomorrow night, with striker Patrick Bamford looking to add to his record of scoring in each of the Whites' league outings so far.

Bamford has been promoted to first choice striker at Elland Road this season, following the departure of last season's top scorer Kemar Roofe to Anderlecht.

So how can Bamford's start to the new season be best summed up?

We discuss........

Chris Gallagher

"He has been very impressive.

"To be honest, I don't understand the criticism that the striker has had whilst at Leeds. In total, he has 12 goals from 26 league games and is three from three this season.

"That's a good record and over the course of a season he would be the 20 goal striker that many feel sides need if they want promotion.

"Of course, he could be more ruthless on occasions but Bamford has good movement, can link play and has been prolific in this campaign. Most importantly, Marcelo Bielsa is a big fan of the player and he knows what he brings to the side.

"But, he will have to maintain these high standards as the Whites have a quality player in Eddie Nketiah waiting to make an impact."

Louie Chandler

"I've been really impressed with him.

"He was excellent against Bristol City and, after a poor showing against Forest, showed real mental strength to bounce back against Wigan and net twice.

"That is not necessarily something he would have done last season so it is a very promising sign for everyone at the club.

"He will have to maintain that, however, with Nketiah breathing down his neck but it is a dynamic and a rivalry that should really play into Bielsa's hands."

George Harbey

“I think Bamford is probably one of the most overly criticised players in the Championship, as he’s started this season off really well indeed.

“Following the departure of Kemar Roofe to Anderlecht, all eyes are firmly on Bamford, with Eddie Nketiah breathing down his neck and waiting to make his first league start for the Whites.

“But Bamford has more than delivered in front of goal in these first few games of the season, and he always seems to be in the right place at the right time as shown against Wigan.

“He should have found the net against Nottingham Forest, but three goals in as many games is hardly a bad start at all.”
