When Nottingham Forest decided to replace Martin O'Neill with Sabri Lamouchi in June, their supporters would have had every right to question the Frenchman's suitability for the job.

Given that the 47-year-old had never previously worked in England before as a head coach, it was clear that the Reds were taking somewhat of a risk by appointing him.

However, Lamouchi has since made an extremely encouraging start to life at Forest which has resulted in the club climbing up to second in the Championship standings.

Having led his side to three consecutive victories last month, the Reds boss was shortlisted for the Championship Manager of the Month award for September earlier this week.

Despite facing competition from Slaven Bilic, Alex Neil and Garry Monk, Lamouchi was announced as the winner this morning.

That prompted Football League World fan pundit Sam George to commended Lamouchi for how quick he has been able to adjust to the Championship.

"With it being his first job in England, we were very unsure on how things would pan out for him but he has adapted superbly.

"His tactics have been pretty much spot on and if he does get it wrong, he knows exactly what to do to change it. He has been very successful so far."

George insists that the way Lamouchi has conducted himself since taking over at Forest has been very impressive.

"There was a lot of new arrivals over the summer and he's managed to get them to gel very quickly.

"His tactical knowledge of the game seems to be very good and the way he conducts himself in interviews is superb. I think having the role of head coach rather than manager has definitely helped him focus on the footballing side of things."

Although the Forest fan pundit believes that the new boss can lead the club to a top-six finish next May, he has suggested that his side may need to bolster their attacking options if they are to challenge for automatic promotion this season.

"I think Lamouchi can lead us to the top six but I think it's very early days yet.

"Whilst we have had a great start, it's important that we don't get ahead of ourselves and that we are patient with the squad and the manager.

"I do think we're still one striker short of being able to make it into the top two. However, I don't think there's anyone in the league that we should be scared of."
