Scott Hogan is edging back to full fitness and could be in contention for a place in the Aston Villa side this weekend against Bristol City.

The former Brentford man has endured a torrid time when it comes to injuries, but is now looking forward to the future and possibly boosting Steve Bruce's attacking options as the season enters autumn.

The 26-year old was once a big money buy at Villa, but he's down the pecking order now and was considered for a loan move in the summer.

That didn't materialise and he's now a Villa player until January at least. They're not in the best of form at the moment and find themselves 13th in the table, averaging just one point per game.

Could a return by Hogan be the answer? Should he be reinstated to the Villa first team this weekend? Our FLW experts discuss.

The Jonathan Kodjia and Tammy Abraham partnership is still in the early stages, so I would give that another shot over the next game or two.

Sure, introduce Scott Hogan from the bench to see how he fairs with either of them over the next few games.

If he does well then there is scope for Hogan to start, but not at present.

See how the other two get on once they have had a run of games together

Louie Chandler

Not for me.

In Tammy Abraham they have somebody capable of scoring 20+ goals comfortably this season and should build their attack around him.

Gary Hutchinson

Absolutely not, no way.

He has a lot to prove and whilst Kodjia hasn't shone this season, he is match fit.

Bruce has only just gone two up top and I'd keep that going, Abraham and Kodjia.

Get Hogan some minutes from the bench, then look at the situation again.
