Aston Villa were put to the sword at Bramall Lane yesterday afternoon as they were humbled by Sheffield United.

Chris Wilder’s side romped to a 4-1 win and were completely out of sight by halftime, going into the break with a 3-0 lead.

The defeat piled more pressure on Villa manager Steve Bruce but also on the man he signed to be their first choice goalkeeper this season.

Orjan Nyland arrived from FC Ingolstadt this summer for £2.7million but has struggled adapting to English football.

Another error-strewn match left the away fans questioning how they ended up with the Norwegian in goal after enjoying Sam Johnstone’s presence for two years.

Jack O’Connell, Mark Duffy and Oliver Norwood scored inside the first 45 minutes and Villa fans will have felt the goalkeeping could have been better for all three goals.

The worst of the lot was how he let Norwood’s 30-yard-free kick, which was well struck but rather tame, sneak inside his near post.

Billy Sharp rounded off the Blades scoring five minutes into the second half before Anwar El Ghazi grabbed a consolation.

Villa fans were not happy with his performance again and here is what they had to say…
