Leeds United bounced back from the weekend defeat against Birmingham City, with a 2-0 win over Preston North End last night, after a Patrick Bamford double was enough to send Marcelo Bielsas's side back into the automatic promotion spots.

The pressure was on Bielsa to get his selection right and with Bamford in the throes of a mini goal drought and top scorer Kemar Roofe finally available, the pressure could have been on to make changes.

So with three points in the bag, did Bielsa get his starting XI right last night?

We discuss........

Gary Hutchinson

“When you win away at a team in form like Preston are, then yes.

“Bamford stayed in and got the goals, but they kept a crucial clean sheet too.

“Nine times out of ten, he gets it right though.

“They wouldn’t be at the top of the table if he didn’t.”

Jacob Potter

"He got it spot on.

"I had my doubts when I saw the likes of Bamford in the starting XI, but Bielsa’s decision proved to be the right one.

"Leeds dominated the game from start to finish and fully deserved the three points on the night.

"Bamford in particular stood out, and Bielsa will be delighted with his decision to stick with the striker, whose confidence was previously shot to pieces."

George Harbey

"He got it spot on.

"I won’t lie, when I saw Roofe on the bench and Bamford starting, I had my doubts, as the latter squandered a lot of opportunities at the weekend.

"He certainly silenced his doubters though after netting a brace, and I think they had an immediate advantage when it was announced that Hernandez was starting for Bielsa’s men."
