Sunderland grabbed themselves a draw in a tight game against Charlton Athletic yesterday, missing out on the chance to move into the automatic promotion spots.

Luke O'Nien opened the scoring for the visitors, but a Reece James own goal levelled things for Lee Bowyer's side and that is how it stayed.

With both their promotion rivals in FA Cup action it represented a missed opportunity for the Black Cats, although they are now a point behind Luton Town with a game in hand.

O'Nien, a summer capture from Wycombe Wanderers, has struggled for a first team start in recent weeks having being kept out by the fierce competition for places at the Stadium of Light, but his goal and performance will surely leave him in the plans of Jack Ross for the coming weeks.

Not only that, but his impact is being appreciated by the fans, who definitely want to see more of him as the season unfolds.

Here's a selection of their comments from social media this morning.
