Ipswich Town manager Paul Lambert has a battle on his hands if he wishes to hold onto starlet Andre Dozzell, amid reports in the EADT, that East Anglian rivals Norwich City are keen on the 20-year-old.

Though talks have taken place, the newly promoted Canaries are yet to make a formal bid for the player who made 21 first team appearances last season.

So would Dozzell be a good signing for Norwich?

We discuss........

Alfie Burns

“The 20-year-old is still raw and he’s not made too much of an impact during his time with the Ipswich first-team.

“However, you’re buying the midfielder’s potential, which has been Norwich’s way for some time now.

“The squad Daniel Farke has put together has a great mix of experience and youth, with the youngsters on show possessing the ability to take Norwich far in the future.

“In my eyes, he fits the mould at Norwich and would be a shrewd addition.”

Ben Lang

"This is an interesting one, as I'm not sure Dozzell has done enough in an Ipswich yet to earn a move to the Premier League.

"He is strong in possession and can pick out a pass from deep which means he should fit in well with Daniel Farke's ethos at Carrow Road, but he is not of the quality to start for the Canaries in the top-flight yet.

"It would also be a strange move for this move to happen between two such intense rivals, particularly as Dozzell's father used to play for Ipswich as well.

"He would surely be loaned out immediately by the Canaries to gain further first-team experience, and I think the Canaries should focus their attention on signing players who can make an immediate impact in the first team."

Toby Wilding

"I could see this being a good signing.

"Dozzell was one of the brighter sparks of a disappointing campaign for Ipswich last season, and you do feel he is capable of competing at a higher level than League One next season.

"His experience in breaking into the Ipswich first team at such a young age, as well as winning caps at a variety of age levels with England, shows just what potential he has. Something which, with Dozzell still just 20-years-old, Norwich could benefit from for some time to come.

"With just a year remaining on his contract at Portman Road, Norwich may be confident that they now have the financial ability to force a sale through, and given the contrasting years these two sides have just had, taking one of their local rival's most promising prospects from under their noses would surely be a popular move at Carrow Road."
