Sheffield Wednesday might be struggling in the Championship after two games, but last night's 2-0 win against Sunderland has lifted fans hopes a little.

It was a hard-fought game, a match that two season's ago would have seen the Owls as the underdogs. Instead, they were expected to win against Jack Ross' depleted side, and they did just that.

There were strong performances from Adam Reach and Barry Bannan, but one player stood out for all the wrong reasons.

George Boyd played at left wing back, a role he occupied with limited success last season, but the 32-year-old didn't impress the travelling Owls fans. He put in a tepid display which has only served to erode his reputation even further.

The fans took to Twitter to lament the former Hull City man's input, accusing him of chasing shadows, embarrassing himself and being a worse buy than Almen Abdi...
