Jason Cummings has completed his move from Nottingham Forest to Rangers on an initial loan deal, with the Glasgow club having the option to make the signing permanent in the summer.

After a successful time at Hibs, much was expected of the 22-year old when he moved to the City Ground in the summer, however it hasn’t worked out.

The striker played 14 Championship games for the Reds but only managed to score one goal, against Sheffield United in September.

Whilst he did notch another three in the Carabao Cup, the Scotland international failed to replicate the form he had shown north of the border.

Therefore, Forest were prepared to let Cummings leave and a move to the Glasgow giants is now concluded.

However, given his age and the fact he is just six months into a new league and country, should Forest have been more patient with Cummings in the hope he would come good?

We take a look…

George Dagless

I don't know if it is.

I think Reds fans liked him and wanted him to do well for the club but he might already be out of favour with Karanka.

It leaves them a little short up top, too, so maybe another striker will come in.

Alfie Burns

Cummings was a Mark Warburton signing, and obviously doesn’t fit into Aitor Karanka’s plan at the City Ground.

It has been a tricky start to the season for Cummings, but the striker appears excited by his latest move, which could be a good one for all parties involved.

Sam Preston

He does not fit in under Karanka.

The former Boro boss demands discipline from his players - on and off the pitch - and that is the last thing you associate with Cummings. They are an awkward fit and he needed to leave the club in this window.
