Derby County responded to their dismal defeat to Fulham last week by securing a 1-1 draw on Saturday against Queens Park Rangers at Pride Park.

Having seen his side produce a lacklustre performance against the Cottagers, Rams manager Phillip Cocu opted to make several changes to his starting eleven for the club's clash with the Hoops.

One of the players who was given the chance to impress by the Dutchman was Andre Wisdom who featured in a back-three alongside Curtis Davies and Craig Forsyth.

Impressive throughout this particular clash, the former Liverpool man will now be looking to establish himself as a key player at the club over the coming months.

With Derby set to face Blackburn Rovers next weekend, it will be intriguing to see whether Cocu decides to play Wisdom at Ewood Park.

Football League World's Derby County fan pundit Lisa Howard has suggested that the defender should feature against Tony Mowbray's side.

"Wisdom was man of the match for me on Saturday.

"His overall performance was really good.

"I think he does deserve to keep his place in the side for the away trip to Blackburn."

Howard believes that the Rams need to bolster their defensive options in the January transfer window.

"Derby need to sign a centre-half in January as we are short on numbers due to injuries.

"I would like a permanent signing rather than a loan, but would be happy either way.

"I would love us to swoop for someone like Aden Flint, but I'm not sure we will be able to get him.

"Rather than a young player, I would prefer us to make a move for a defender who is experienced at this level."

The Rams, who are currently 14th in the Championship standings, could potentially close the gap between them and the play-off places with a victory over Blackburn next weekend.
