Birmingham City are on a charge up the Championship table under manager Garry Monk, with the Blues now in eighth place in the table, just three points off the play-off places, ahead of the trip to Hull City this weekend.

Monk's latest win came in the 2-1 victory against fellow promotion rivals Bristol City and marked loan winger Conor Mahoney's second goal for the club, following his arrival on a season loan loan from Bournemouth in the summer.

So has Mahoney now done enough to warrant a regular starting spot after his recent displays?

We discuss.....

Alfie Burns

“You don’t often see Monk making changes, but the ones he made on Tuesday worked.

“Mahoney was exceptional and I don’t see how he can be dropped heading into the weekend.

“Picking players in form is the only way forward.”

Louie Chandler

"I think so.

"For a while now, Maghoma and Jota were not exactly setting the world alight out wide so why not mix it up?

"Mahoney showed in midweek that he is capable of scoring and creating so I would keep him in."

Jacob Potter

"He deserves a shot.

"Mahoney really impressed me in the win over Bristol City and he’s surely done enough to warrant a start.

"He’s a man in form, and you don’t replace someone who is showing promising signs."

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes.

“He was sensational against Bristol City.

“Birmingham have to be open to those changes, they’ve got such a small squad it pays to visit these options from time to time.”

Jay Taylor

“He was on fire earlier in the season, and with young players, they lack form from time to time.

“Think of this as Mahoney’s recovery from his bad-form performances.

“I think he has done enough in recent weeks to be called upon from the start – if not – what more can he do?”
