Derby County booked their place in this season's Championship play-offs after a 3-1 win over rivals West Brom at the weekend, a result that secured the sixth and final play-off spot for Frank Lampard's side.

Lampard though is not resting on his laurels and recruitment ahead of next season is a priority for the 40-year-old following a successful first season in management, with St Johnstone goalkeeper Zander Clark a target, according to Football Insider.

Lampard could well face competition from his old England teammate Steven Gerrard, as Rangers are also keen on the 26-year-old stopper.

So, would Clark be a good signing for the Rams?

We discuss.........

Ben Lang

"He would certainly be a good addition after his performances this season.

"He has great reflexes and good distribution, so could fit into Lampard's side well.

"However, I back Roos to take the number one spot, so Clark might struggle to oust him."

Gary Hutchinson

“It’s hard to say because with the greatest respect, the SPFL isn’t all that competitive.

“He’s a decent keeper and Derby do need one, so he could prove to be a class find.

“I’m very surprised Lampard isn’t going to grab Blackman from Chelsea on loan.

“Youngsters in the second-tier have proven themselves time and again - look at Dean Henderson.”

Toby Wilding

"They definitely need a 'keeper and Clark could be a decent option here.

"Having spent his whole career in Scotland you feel he may be keen for an opportunity elsewhere, and Derby would certainly offer him that.

"You wonder however how he would cope with the change in environment, and playing styles, with a move to the Championship."

George Brooks

"This would be an ideal signing for Derby.

"Clark already has a respectable amount of experience in Scotland and looks to have what it takes to become a top goalkeeper in the Championship.

"Derby need a new shot-stopper, with Kelle Roos’ contract set to expire in the summer and the experienced Scott Carson entering the final few years of his career, so signing Clark would make perfect sense."
