Bright Osayi-Samuel should consider a move to Rangers, according to Kevin Phillips.

The Queens Park Rangers star faces an uncertain future as he approaches the final six months of his contract at Loftus Road.

The Hoops have tried to convince the 22-year-old to sign a new deal but have yet to find a solution that acceptable to the young winger.

Club Brugge came close to signing him over the summer, while Celtic and Rangers have both been heavily linked with a move as we approach the January transfer window.

Clubs outside of England can agree a pre-contract agreement with Osayi-Samuel from the start of next month, with both Scottish sides expected to be in the running.

According to Phillips, a move to Scotland could be ideal for the winger who could make a real name for himself.

Speaking to Football Insider, Phillips said: “He could push for a move in January.

"The way Rangers are playing and the troubles Celtic are having, bar a major collapse, it looks like Rangers will go and secure the league title.

“For a player in a position like Samuel, it is crazy up there, he could quickly become a legend and be part of something special.

“It would not surprise me if he was to move to Ibrox.

“He has already shown that he can perform down here and I think he would be exceptional up there. He would not have any problems shining.

“If he was to leave QPR there would be quite a few clubs interested in signing him. If he is to leave I think there will be a real battle for his signature because he is a good, young player.”
