Nottingham Forest have made a number of impressive signings this summer but one in particular caught the eye in a recent pre-season match against Malaga.

Gil Dias scored a magnificent solo goal, dancing around players with ease before applying the finishing touch.

It has been shared on social media and discussed by excited Nottingham Forest fans, who cannot wait to see the on-loan Monaco winger in action in competitive football.

FLW writers have their say on whether it is time to get excited about Dias...

Gary Hutchinson

Start getting excited? I'd imagine they already are.

That goal will increase the levels of expectation, but Forest fans will have been looking forward to the season kicking off pretty much as soon as Karanka made his first moves of the summer.

Jay Williams

He could be the new Diogo Jota. Just as the wing wizard lit up the Championship with Wolves last season, we could see a similar thing with Dias at Nottingham Forest.

The youngster has natural talent in abundance, flair, creativity and clearly an eye for goal - what is there not to get excited about?

Jay Taylor

Of course! The new signings look like they have settled in well and their pace and flair in attack should get the fans going ahead of the new season.

Friendlies are not the best barometer to gauge how your season is going to go, but having a good pre-season is a plus.

Forest fans should be looking forward to seeing how their new players fair in the Championship.
