Cardiff produced an extraordinary comeback to seal a 3-3 draw with Championship high-flyers Leeds United over the weekend, despite finding themselves trailing by three goals in the second period.

Helder Costa scored the opening goal for the Whites before Patrick Bamford netted a brace to create a three-goal cushion, but goals from Lee Tomlin, Sean Morrison and Robert Glatzel then sealed an unlikely point for Neil Harris' men.

The fight-back was made even more impressive by the fact Cardiff were outplayed by their opponents in the first period, but the Bluebirds then showed excellent desire to get themselves back into the game in the final 30 minutes.

The visitors were mostly inspired by the performance of Tomlin who scored Cardiff's first goal before producing a sublime assist for Glatzel's equaliser, with the striker slotting the ball past Kiko Casilla to score his most important goal since joining the club.

Glatzel arrived at the Cardiff City Stadium with high pedigree over the summer, but he has somewhat struggled to adapt to life in England's second tier, which means his late goal against Leeds will surely give him plenty of confidence going forward.

The 25-year-old was making his first appearance since late October for the Bluebirds - with a hamstring injury having ruled him out for more than a month - and it would have done him a world of good to net his third goal for the club in the 88th minute.

A big, match-defining moment such as this should now provide Glatzel with the belief that he can compete with the best in the Championship, while it already seems he has benefitted from the change of management at the Bluebirds.

Many Cardiff supporters believed former boss Neil Warnock was not maximising Glatzel's clear potential at the tip of the attacking line, but it already looks like Harris has instilled fresh belief in the striker's abilities to deliver for his side.

The Welsh side will now be aiming to pick up where they left off when they host Preston over the weekend, and it is also important that Glatzel now uses his heroics as a platform to fulfil his potential at Cardiff.

There is no guarantee he will start the next match despite his Elland Road heroics, but his excellent cameo means Harris will have no hesitation in turning to the German in the future, and Glatzel must ensure he is now ready to contribute again to keep establishing himself at the club.
