Leeds United look set to stick with under-fire keeper Felix Wiedwald for another game, if not through desire but circumstance.

Andy Lonergan is still out injured and highly likely to miss the visit of leaders Wolves - That leaves keeper Wiedwald in the sticks for at least another ninety minutes.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Paul Heckingbottom outlined his plans for the number one jersey going forward: “It’s one area we’re looking at but we’ve been really fair with Felix and Lonners. It’s important that goalkeepers get your backing."

Wiedwald was not a popular man after Friday's defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough, but the Leeds manager isn't blind to his potential problems:

“I’m seeing what you’re seeing and probably a lot more because I train with them every day and in terms of goals, he (Wiedwald) knows he’s made mistakes. He’s knows there are areas where he could have done better. He’s also had good moments and made good saves to help us get three points."

Wiedwald has significant pedigree having come through the youth ranks at Werder Bremen before a move to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Another two years at his boyhood club followed before joining Leeds for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal. He's kept 12 clean sheets so far this season, but that hasn't saved him from the wrath of Leeds fans.
