Tom Ince got himself on the scoresheet as Stoke City beat Charlton Athletic by three goals to one at the weekend.

The Potters have really turned a corner in recent weeks, losing only one of their last six matches after another big win at the weekend.

On Saturday, goals from James McClean, Ince and Nick Powell secured a 3-1 victory for Michael O'Neill's side, who now sit five points clear of the relegation zone in 20th position.

Ince scored right after the half-time interval to put Stoke back into the lead, firing into the bottom corner after latching onto Joe Allen's through ball.

It has been a difficult campaign for Ince - the winger has come under criticism at times, scoring two goals and producing two assists for the Potters this term.

After the game, Ince admitted that it has been a difficult season so far. Via the Stoke Sentinel, he said: "It’s been a difficult season for me, up and down, performances haven’t been as consistent or good enough for my expectations.

"But one thing I don’t do is quit and one thing I don’t do is keep my head down and be selfish.

"I always try and work hard in training. As long as the team is winning, that's the most important thing.

"For me, its about trying to get back to how I can play and hopefully that goal is that little bit of a boost, that goal scoring feeling."

The 28-year-old will now be looking to turn a corner and keep on producing the same level of performances on a weekly basis, although whether fans will give him that time is another question.

Here, we take a look at what Stoke fans had to say in response to Ince's comments, via the Stoke City - Sentinel page on Facebook...

Ben Cowie: Not as bad as everyone keeps saying. Similar to what happened with clucas last season. Got loads of stick but turned out decent. I do feel that verlinden should be given a start this week though. I feel he's done enough to deserve it and ince isn't at his best.

Nathan Hilditch: 100% he can turn a corner, we know he's a better player than we've seen this season, in fact we've seen it with our own eyes last season, his stock plummeted under Jones and he wasn't the only one so there's hope O'Neill can turn his fortunes around.

Damian Lythgoe: I can’t see it. I can’t see him consistently performing against the top teams when he’s up against it.

Paul Jeffery: Even against charlton tho man of the match and a goal and still didnt particularly stand out as a special performance mccleans been playing better than that all season some softie in commentary felt sorry for him i think

Kevin Bennett: False dawn. Not consistent enough for me. Let Rowett have him in the summer

John Ward: One swallow doesn't make a summer,

Neil Ruffels: Dont rate the guy
