Nottingham Forest are showing an interest in Peterborough United's in-demand striker Jack Marriott, according to Posh chairman Barry Fry (via the Nottingham Post).

Does Forest boss Aitor Karanka need to push forward and secure an agreement with the former Luton Town frontman?

Marriott's price tag will be putting Nottingham Forest off, but they should definitely start negotiating a deal to drive it down.

With the 23-year-old favouring a move to the City Ground, Posh willing to sell and Forest desperate to get him, a lower transfer fee could be struck and this would be perfect for Nottingham Forest.

He can take Forest to the next level, because he knows where the net is and he is a major improvement on their current striker options.

Chris Gallagher

Yes, he does!

Marriott is in-demand with most clubs outside the Premier League desperate to have a striker like him in their side.

Therefore, if he wants to join Forest they must do all they can to make it happen. They desperately need a goalscorer and he could be the answer.

Alfie Burns

Karanka needs to get this one over the line because interest is going to come from elsewhere.

It seems that everything is currently pointing Marriot in the direction of the City Ground, but for some reason, Forest haven’t got it done yet.

If a Championship rival moves in, Karanka could be left kicking himself.
