Football League World's Bristol City fan pundit Matt Twiggs has chosen the player he would like to see tied down to a new deal next following the recent Ashley Williams update.

The experienced centre-back had his conract extended until the end of the season on Monday night but it is in attack where Twiggs would like to see the next offer from the club go.

"The next player I would like to see tied down to a new deal is Niclas Eliasson," the regular punter told Football League World.

"The winger has had limited game time this season, however when he has played he has been fantastic.

"Despite only three league starts he has the most assists in the Championship.

"At only 23 he can only get better, so I’d like to see him stay at the club for a long period of time and become a fans favourite here."

Eliasson made the move to Bristol from Swedish side Norrkoping in the summer of 2017 but has always struggled to nail down a regular starting spot under Lee Johnson.

Since his arrival he has made 66 appearances, scoring four goals but assisting an impressive 13, including six in the current campaign alone.

He notched both assists in Friday night's 2-2 draw with Barnsley at Oakwell, crossing first for Williams in the first half before doing the same for Andreas Weimann in the second.

However, the draw meant that they missed out on the chance to push towards the automatic promotion spots and Eliasson will be hoping to have a starring role this weekend when they travel to South Wales to face Cardiff.
