Tottenham are weighing up a swoop for Wolves' star midfielder Ruben Neves this summer, according to the Mirror.

Would the Portuguese ace be a good fit at Spurs? Is Tottenham the right club for the 21-year-old?

We discuss...

Ben Barkworth

Neves would be a great player for Spurs to bring in because of how he allows his dominate by controlling the central areas in the middle and final thirds.

Mousa Dembele is leaving in the summer, so the Portuguese international would be excellent option to bring him in, but he wouldn’t be a direct replacement for Dembele because they have contrasting styles.

He is more like Dembele’s teammate Harry Winks in terms of the role he plays.

Jay Williams

Ruben Neves would be a terrific addition for Tottenham. With Neves, Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele as their defensive midfield options, they will be practically impenetrable in the Premier League.

But if I was Neves, I would remain at Wolves for at least one more season and play the starring role in their first season back in the Premier League.

Chris Gallagher

He’s exactly what they need.

Neves would get into most sides in the country and he would certainly improve Spurs.

They don’t really have a defensive midfield option who excels on the ball but Neves does.

Alfie Burns

Neves is certainly good enough for Spurs and he would improve their side.

The 21-year-old has been the Championship’s standout performer this season, and I’m intrigued to see how he will go in the Premier League next season.

With the money Wolves will demand for Neves, I can see Spurs waiting 12 months to see how he performs in the top-flight, but there is no doubt in my mind that Neves will be playing for a big club in the near future.

Gary Hutchinson

Neves is a super player but he's going to cost an awful lot of money. I wonder if maybe Spurs would be better splitting that £50m and finding the 'next' Neves, or even securing the services of Ryan Sessegnon.

Neves is a top player, don't get me wrong, but he doesn't feel like a Spurs fit to me.

George Dagless

Absolutely - He can easily be as good as Dele Alli.

Any side that signs Neves will be pleased because he is that good.

Wolves have a real battle on their hands to keep him because he should have the pick of the best in Europe this summer.

Tottenham will have to really show they want him.
