Since coming so close to winning promotion back to the Premier League at Wembley nearly two months ago, there has been plenty of change at Derby County.

Frank Lampard, who became a big fan favourite at Pride Park after being given his first managerial role, left to takeover the manager's job at his beloved Chelsea with Phillip Cocu coming in to replace him.

And whilst there was plenty of disappointment among the fans at his departure, one person who may not be sad to see him go is Jack Marriott.

Signed by Lampard last summer from Peterborough United for around £3million, Mariott netted 12 times in 43 appearances in all competitions but somehow never seemed to be a favourite.

The most notable proof of this came in the play-offs. After dragging the Rams through to the final with two goals as a substitute in the second-leg against Leeds at Elland Road, Lampard refused to start him at Wembley to plenty of criticism.

Derby were comfortably beaten and it was not until Marriott's introduction that they looked like getting back in the game.

So when footage was shared of the 24-year-old impressing in training, it excited plenty of fans...
