With the Championship season almost upon us, clubs across the division have started to release their squad numbers for the campaign.

And, Norwich City were the latest, revealing on Twitter which player will be wearing what number ahead of the opener at Birmingham City next Saturday.

The notable numbers included Ben Marshall taking No.7, Jordan Rhodes No.11 and Tim Krul taking the No.1, which suggests he is set to start at St. Andrew's as Daniel Farke's stopper.

As well as that, a few fans were bemused that outcast Russell Martin kept the No.5, along with Nelson Oliveira taking No.9 with speculation surrounding his future.

Another talking point was the fact that nobody took the No.14 shirt, which was worn by Wes Hoolahan during his time at Carrow Road.

The Irishman was a fan favourite after 10 wonderful years with the Canaries and no one has decided to take up the reponsibility of wearing a number synonymous with Hoolahan.

Here's how some of the Norwich fans reacted to the update...
