Amid their relegation battle, Birmingham City moved fast to name a new manager after Gianfranco Zola resigned yesterday.

Gianfranco Zola only managed two wins in four months at Birmingham City and he transformed this team from genuine play-off contenders to genuine relegation candidates.

The former West Ham and Watford boss has left the Blues in the lurch, just three points off the drop zone with three to play with inferior goal difference, a losing mentality and a team seriously lacking confidence.

So, Birmingham unveiled Harry Redknapp as their new manager.

The experienced 70-year-old has previously spent plenty of time in charge of Premier League sides, such as West Ham United, Portsmouth (twice), Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers.

He will be tasked with keeping the Blues up this season.

Birmingham fans took to Twitter to respond to this news and here are a selection of the best responses to the official announcement.
