William Carvalho is a target of several Premier League sides this summer transfer window and Leeds United are among them, according to transfer20.

The Whites are obviously looking to add quality in the summer window and Carvalho could be a decent option, given some of the experience he has in the game.

He is, however, also subject to interest from the likes of Spurs and Wolves, so it could be a fascinating battle for his signature.

How good a signing would he be for the Whites, though, or would he be good at all? Some of our team here at FLW assess...

This would be an excellent signing for Leeds.

Carvalho is a fantastic player who I really liked the look of during his time at Sporting, and I think he has also done well in La Liga.

Kalvin Phillips should start every single league game for Leeds next season if he stays fit, but every good side needs competition for places and Leeds lack depth in their squad, so the addition of a quality defensive midfielder to provide him with cover would be invaluable.

It would signal a huge statement of intent.

Quiz: Have these 15 current and ex-Leeds United players ever played in the Premier League?

I have some doubts.

William Carvalho, a player who seems to be touted with a transfer every single transfer window, has never really developed into the player many thought he would do at a younger age.

However, there is no denying he has ability with his powerful, combative style of play in the midfield some of his overarching best attributes.

I do question whether the Portugal international has the mobility in the middle of the park to fit in with a Bielsa side, with the player often keen to sit in front of the defence rather than contribute to a high-press.

There will be many other Premier League clubs keen, and I just feel Leeds should be looking for central midfielders who possess that bit more energy and buzz in midfield, than perhaps the more laboured Carvalho.

This looks like a fantastic signing to me and one that would be a real statement of intent if the Whites can get it done.

Carvalho has shown his quality competing in some top European leagues over the last decade or so, as well as making 59 appearances for Portugal.

He's a name that has been linked with some of the Premier League's big clubs in the past, which shows just how impressive a deal this would be if Leeds can get it done.

Hard-working and industrious in midfield, he would certainly fit Bielsa's system and you feel he's got the quality in possession as well.
