Nottingham Forest go into this international break on a real high after they beat QPR 4-0 at the City Ground with a fine team performance.
The Reds have had a whole host of results, both good and bad, this season, but when they perform to their maximum, there really is very few sides in the division who can live with them – as Saturday showed. Mark Warburton, then, is the man who needs to try and get the consistency levels going with them just two points off of the top six and it appears as though he’s just found a secret weapon.
Indeed, Forest can get into the top six if they play how they did at the weekend and it could just be the case that Tyler Walker is the man to help do that. He’s not played much football at all this season but had his chance at the weekend and duly seized it with two fine goals.
Of course, you’d still expect Daryl Murphy and Jason Cummings to still play regularly, but Walker has suggested that he should be in the reckoning more for league games and that competition for places is going to be vital.
Certainly, whilst Murphy has scored plenty of goals, Cummings could perhaps be hitting the net more and all three forwards are now going to have to raise it.
And in a side that is already potent going forwards, having strikers all looking to prove a point should make for an enthralling season – now you just need to sort the defence out, Warbs!
