Brentford have had a difficult start to the season, with Thomas Frank's side down in 17th spot in the table with only one win in their last five league outings, ahead of the weekend visit of Millwall.

With Frank searching for the winning formula for his squad, he may be tempted to consider recalling 20-year-old forward Marcus Forss who is currently in sparkling form with seven goals in six league starts on-loan at AFC Wimbledon.

So did Brentford make a mistake letting Forss go out on-loan to AFC Wimbledon?

We discuss........

Kris Smith

"Since losing Neal Maupay to Brighton, Ollie Watkins has had to step in and lead the line for Brentford and while he has performed well, scoring seven goals in 11 games, I don’t think Brentford are scoring enough as a whole and could have done with an extra body to help shoulder the burden.

"Marcus Forss has already shown his goal-scoring prowess this season, with seven goals in six league games for Wimbledon, including a hat-trick at the weekend.

"Forss is showing great instinct at a young age, scoring close-range goals in crowded areas, but also having the confidence to drive at the defenders with that ball from the first minute and carve a chance out of nothing, as he did for his first goal at the weekend.

"While the long-term prospects of the Finland youth player will be better off following a successful loan spell, I believe it would have been beneficial for Brentford to have another striker to contribute."

George Brooks

"I don't know if you can say it's a mistake, Forss is a talented young player, but he doesn't have that much experience in the Championship, so I can understand why Thomas Frank made the decision to send him out on loan.

"However, Brentford have struggled to score goals recently and some of their attacking players have missed some big chances in games.

"Forss been in great form for AFC Wimbledon so far this season and if he continues to score goals down in League One, Brentford might want to consider recalling him.

"If he could replicate his scoring form in the Championship, he could be the solution to their problem."

Chris Thorpe

"Oh yes absolutely, he's been nothing short of superb this season for Wimbledon, his finishing ability and hold up play is second to none.

"Brentford have only netted nine goals as a collective this season, with Ollie Watkins getting seven of those, thus underlining the need for the Bees to bring in another striker in January.

"They may be able to save themselves the trouble of delving into the market by just simply recalling Forss from his loan spell to give him a good chance to prove himself at Championship level.

"It will be interesting to see if Wimbledon hold onto him come January, as I feel there is a real possibility we will see him back at Griffin Park this season."
