After a bit of a turbulent week at the club, Dean Smith will be desperate to get his Aston Villa squad back out on the pitch this weekend.

Start striker Tammy Abraham has been at the centre of the country's gaze over a potential move to local rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers with the 21-year-old even missing a day of training because of it.

But having returned to the club he looks set to complete the rest of the current campaign with the West Midlands side and will be looking to get on the scoresheet for a 17th time this season against Wigan on Saturday.

It is a match that the fans, players and manager alike will be desperate to win having suffered a bit of a disappointing spell over recent weeks, winning just once in their last six matches.

Whilst they have only lost once in that period as well, draws are not likely to get them into the play-off places.

So how will Smith line-up for the Latics clash?

Here is what we expect...

There will be a couple of league debuts in the back-line with both goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic and Kortney Hause likely to be given their first Championship starts with Orjan Nyland and Axel Tuanzebe both still injured.

John McGinn and Glenn Whelan will most likely take the two holding rolls in front of the menacing trio of Yannick Bolasie, Connor Hourihane and Anwar El Ghazi.

Tammy Abraham will have more than a point to prove up front as well after a tricky week so expect him to be chomping at the bit to put the ball in the back of the net again.
