The arrival of Thomas Christiansen earlier in the summer was met with a mixed reaction by fans of Leeds United, with many questioning why the unknown manager was to be afforded the opportunity of managing their great club.

Fast forward to September, and the end of the transfer window, it appears that the hierarchy at the club made an excellent decision in taking a punt on the Danish boss.

A magnitude of new faces can be seen of the club’s training ground, with Christiansen having completely overhauled the squad since his arrival.

Deadweight has been removed, quality and depth added, and the squad appears ready to launch a push for the top six, having picked up eleven points from five opening games.

Chris Wood’s departure was a blow, but Christiansen swapped one striker for four during the offseason, and the depth available in the forward positions is one of the strongest in the division.

However, the best piece of business done this summer is Ezgjan Alioski, an unknown Macedonian winger, whom Christiansen plucked from Swiss minnows, Lugano.

The player has been phenomenal since his arrival, making five starts, scoring once and laying on two assists thus far.

His goal in the win at Nottingham Forest was a delight, a bending effort from outside the box, which nestled in the bottom left-hand corner of the net.

His running, pace and trickery have caused no ends of problems for Championship defences, and as he grows into the league, his output will only increase.

Alioski can easily break a combined total of 15 goals and assists, not a bad tally for Macedonian playing his first year in the English game.

Leeds fans, has Christiansen made a better signing than Alioski this summer?
