Marcelo Bielsa has discussed Izzy Brown’s strong form for Luton Town this season, outlining his positive attitude in the face of tough circumstances.

Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown spent the entirety of last season on-loan at Leeds United but didn’t make a single start for the Whites as he struggled to build fitness and momentum at Elland Road.

Brown signed for Leeds carrying on the rehabilitation process from the previous season as he healed from a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury.

This meant that Brown barely featured for Leeds in their quest for automatic promotion, having very brief cameos from the bench as his only first-team outings, despite being in fine form regularly for the under-23s side.

Brown then signed on-loan for newly-promoted Luton Town in the summer and fully recovered from his horror injury. He has hit the ground running since then, making 13 appearances for the Hatters and registering six assists. Only three players have provided more goals than the Chelsea-loanee in the division this season.

There had been an element of regret surrounding Leeds with Izzy Brown’s ill-fated loan spell, thinking that if he had been thrust into action sooner, it might have been the boost Leeds needed to make it over the line for promotion.

Speaking to the press ahead of Leeds’ trip to Brown’s new club, Marcelo Bielsa said that he is pleased to see the midfielder flourishing at another club.
