When Blackburn bought Ben Brereton at the beginning of the season, it seemed as though veteran Danny Graham had perhaps had his day.

Graham has had a long and varied career with the likes of Sunderland, Watford and Swansea, but with the younger players being drafted in, he could have been forgiven for thinking there was a spell on the bench for him, followed by a drop back into League One.

This weekend, Blackburn bounced back from a tough few weeks to beat struggling Sheffield Wednesday 4-2 and Graham was instrumental. Whilst those around him have struggled for form, he showed the clinical edge that has been evident throughout his career.

He was instrumental in their win, which makes him the feature of our latest Spotlight piece.

Graham wasn't just bagging the goals for Blackburn this weekend, he made the one he didn't score. He managed an impressive hat-trick to take his season total to seven in the Championship, but he also created the second for midfielder Bradley Dack.

He played 90 minutes of the game, managing four shots, of which three went in. he turned in a robust forward's display too, winning three aerial duels as his side put the sorry Owls to the sword.

Blackburn needed a result after a couple of highly damaging defeats and Graham was instrumental in making sure his side were winners at the weekend, he even had a key pass in his locker too, creating a missed chance for a teammate.

His passing was 67%, not the most impressive success rate in the Championship, but not the worst either.

Not that anyone was judging him on his passing when you bag a hat trick and an assist in a 4-2 win you're allowed the odd stray pass.

At 33-years old, it seems there's plenty of life left in the old dog at the moment.
