New Burton Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has made his first signing since taking over at the Pirelli Stadium on Thursday, the club have confirmed.
The Chelsea legend has signed Yeovil goalkeeper Chris Weale on a one month loan deal, following the injury of Burton shot-stopper Dean Lyness who is out for four months with a broken leg.
Weale, 32, has struggled for first team action in recent weeks following Yeovil’s loan signing of goalkeeper Jed Steer from Aston Villa on the 31st October.
It is believed the experienced goalkeeper is unhappy at Huish Park, being kept out of the side after only signing in the summer following his release from Shrewsbury Town.
He is likely to gain first team experience under Hasselbaink’s Albion side and is available for selection as the Brewers travel to Wycombe tomorrow night for Hasselbaink’s first game as manager.
